Mrs. Doubtfire is a black-humor film that was adapted from a novel –Madame Doubtfire written by Anne Fine- for the screen in 1987. The director of the film is Chris Colombus and Robin Williams, Sally Field and Pierce Brosnan are the lead characters of this many awarded film.
Mrs. Doubtfire is about a couple -Miranda-Daniel- who have three children and do not get on well, unfortunately. Miranda wants to divorce on account of Daniel does not have a regular job. Daniel loves his children so much and so do his children. After divorcing, he can not see his children and he finds a different and creative way to see his children. He undergoes a tremendous change on his body and he becomes a caretaker as an old woman for his children while Miranda works. Surprisingly, Miranda does not notice that this woman is her ex-husband and very loves this old woman -Mrs. Doubtfire. After a while, Daniel learns how to cook, take care, do housework for his children. By the way, Miranda starts a new relationship with a wealthy and gorgeous man who wants to marry her. Daniel has to challenge with this man, though. At the end of the film, everybody notices that Mrs. Doubtfire is Daniel and his creativity leads him a new and regular job. He becomes appearing on TV as a storyteller for all children.
It is a really stupendous black-humor film that makes me laugh and cry at the same time. Robin Williams has an extraordinary acting skill and so does Sally Field. The little players are also wonderful. The soundtrack is impressive and suits the pace of the film. This film won a variety of awards such as the best actor, the best comedy film and makeup & hairstyle.
Mrs. Doubtfire is extremely beyond the limitations film. It criticizes parents’ behaviours after divorcing. Whether parents divorce or not they should have the same rights to see their children for both children’s and parents’ mental health. It is a must-see film and I would highly recommend this film to comedy fans who want both laugh and cry at the same time.
