Poverty is the biggest social issue of our time, which has existed for centuries and unfortunately is still alive because of the wrong policies of governments. Although, there are enough water, food and place in the world to sustain the life for all living organisms, why are so many people still poor? According to the recent research, there are two billions people live under the poverty limit in the world, unfortunately. In that case, what can be done to eradicate poverty?

Firstly, the minumum statutory wage should be raised to poverty limit by all governments that challange with poverty. The hunger limit and poverty limit are determined differently, according to government policies in every country. In Turkey, for instance, the minumum wage is two thousands Turkish liras while the hunger limit is (only for nourishment) 1.712 TL for four people. According to the latest data, the poverty limit has been determined 5.200 TL in 2019. In other way to say, to live in normal standards, the monthly salary must be at least 5.200 TL for four people in Turkey. As a result, to increase minumum salary can be one of the most effective solution to reduce the number of poor people.

Another solution, to cope with this problem is to take precautions to reduce unemployment rate in the country. To examplify, more vocational courses can be organized by the governments for unskilled people who want to work but can not find a job to earn their living. Furthermore, more factories can be set up simultaneously with the courses to take advantage of the workforce of these people. As a result, the people who take part in these courses learn basic principles of any occupation and will have less trouble to find a job.

Lastly, even if the greatest responsibility to eradicate the poverty is the task of governments, all citizens need to take responsibility to stop the poverty, though. For instance, some do not like the job they found, and spends all their times by doing nothing or complaining of living conditions or economy. Everybody can seek or ask for job opportunies or consult authorities to create their own solutions. Thus, everybody can indirectly be beneficial for the country they live.

All in all, athough the governments have great liabilities to address this problem, I certainly believe that we should be part of the solution of this social issue. To expect having solved of every problems by the governments can not be a solution. The only solution is to change the perspective!.
