Bullying in schools is a systematic problem that makes students’ life arduous all over the world. According to statistics, 1 in 5 students has been bullied in school today. There are numerous detrimental effects of bullying on many students. In my opinion, every kind of bullying should be prevented either physical or verbal. Now then, what the causes and destructive effects of bullying can be?

One of the drawbacks of bullying at schools is to affect the victim’s emotional world intensely. For instance, a plenty of children may be the target of sentimental bullying due to lack of money. In consequence of the income inequality among the parents of the children, some adolescents who can not afford high- priced items such as telephone, clothes, etc may become an object of derision. As a result, those who are the butt of rumors do not want to come to school and begin to behave aggressively and depressively both at home and school.

Another negative aspect of bullying is that it encourages violence. For example, someone who witnessed bullying and does nothing may start to bullying after a while. Also, according to research, those children who do bullying have been subjected to verbal or physical violence such as insulting or beating from their parents. So as to attract attention and to hide their weakness, they may put into practice the same behaviour to anyone else. As a result, violence triggers more and more violence. In other way to say, children who are exposed to violence are always prone to exhibit bullying actions in their mature lives.

On the other hand, there are some beneficial effects of bullying on children who are subjected to these unpleasant behaviours. Even if, these benefits cannot be noticed at first sight when it is compared to destructive effects, it can be salutary indeed. For instance, those may learn how to tackle these situations while they are challenging with these overbearing children. They can prefer sharing their feelings or fears with their teachers or parents or going to a consultant to get assistance. As a result, a trauma that they experienced in their school years will teach them how to handle situations like these if they encounter with the same problem in their future lives

.

To sum up, all reasons and results of the bullying are considered, I believe that parents and teachers should be more careful and observant to prevent the physical and emotional damages caused by bullying and children or adolescents who are subjected to violence such as verbally or physically by their peers every day should not hide their problems and fears from their parents or teachers in order to cope with the bullying.
